2.8.09 Calvin & Elizabeth "Shadelands Art Center" Walnut Creek

Calvin and Elizabeth’s wedding marked the end to a long weekend for us. Matter of fact it was longest period of time we had actually been away from our son since he was born.

The forecast was calling for rain later in the day (good thing it was a indoor wedding). It held off long enough for us to get some outdoor photos that Nic and I have been cooking up for a while. Man was I glad for the small window b/c we got some killer photos. Other than that the night went fairly well, playing around with remote flash and just trying new things.

We would really like to thank Calvin and Elizabeth for contacting me to capture their special day. And a big thank you to those that cooked the awesome food!!!

2.7.09 Sara & Laurin "Sir Francis Drake Hotel" SF

And we are back, with the 1st wedding of the year. On Saturday we covered a really cool couple Sara & Laurin @ the Sir Francis Drake Hotel! Man what a beautiful place + the Chinese New Years parade was going on one block away. This parade draws out thousands of people and will come into play later)

We caught a taxi from our hotel (the Opal), it's ruffly about 1.2 miles away from the wedding location. But this 1.2 miles is uphill in the snow BOTH WAYS (kidding). We decide to take a cab ride but to be honest it was more like we were playing GTA (Grand Theft Auto) except you don't get points for running people over.

Anyways, the cab driver could only get us about 3 blocks within the Sir Francis b/c of the parade. So we pay and end up dipping, ducking, dodging hundres of people along the way (told you it would come into play).

Other than that the night went without a hitch and we had a blast! Sara, your parents are flat out awesome!
